WA State Department of Health Reminder Sent to Registered Dentists

On Tuesday, October 19th, the WA State Department of Health sent out the following reminder to all registered dentists that dental laboratories should now be registered with the Department of Health:
Dental Laboratory Registration Requirement Reminder
"This message is a reminder for all dental providers. If you are using an outside dental laboratory to make, repair, alter or supply dental appliances, the outside laboratory must be registered with the Department of Health per RCW 70.352.
Dental laboratories operating for the sole purpose of providing services to the dentist’s own practice do not need to be registered. Denturists and educational institutions also do not need to register with the Department of Health.
Dental providers must include the registration number of the dental laboratory on prescriptions for dental appliances. If you are working with a dental laboratory that is not registered or needs help with the registration process, please contact Becky McElhiney at becky.mcelhiney@doh.wa.gov to ensure that the laboratory complies with the law.

If you are not registered as a dental laboratory with the DOH and are a WSDLA member, please contact our office at wsdla@executiveoffice.org or call us at 800-652-2212 and we will forward the documents you need to fill out along with tips and tricks of how to get your laboratory registered as soon as possible and keep the registration current.
